Westchester Teams Rank High In MaxPreps Football

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Archbishop Stepinac High School of White Plains is ranked No. 2 in New York state high school football in the latest rankings from MaxPreps.

Iona Prep is ranked No. 27, and Rye Neck is ranked No. 30.

Stepinac improved to 2-0 with a 28-10 in its win Saturday over Monroe-Woodbury. Brandon Coleman rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns to lead Stepinac, which plays Holy Cross of Flushing on Saturday,Sept. 13.

Iona Prep slipped to 1-1 with a 32-25 loss to St. Frances Academy of Baltimore on Friday, Sept. 12.

Rye Neck (2-0) beat Woodlands, 34-0, as Jake Sevean (86 yards) and Dom Brescia (71 yards, two touchdowns) led a balanced running attack.

In MaxPreps’ Class A rankings, Yorktown (No. 6) and Rye (No. 7) are both 2-0 and ranked in the top 10.
