Two Juveniles Arrested For Vehicle Theft: Nutley PD Two juveniles have been apprehended after a car was stolen in Nutley last month, police said. On Wednesday, March 6 at 4:21 a.m., the two juveniles entered a home on Alexander Avenue through a rear door and stole the keys to a Land Rover parked in the driveway, Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo said. The vehicle was recovered in East Orange a day later, police said. The juveniles have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and motor vehicle theft, police said.

From 2018 through 2022, Cipriano Diaz sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 13, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. The assaults occurred in Franklin Township, authorities said. A warrant has been issued for Diaz's arrest, authorities said. Diaz is 6'3" and weighs 210 pounds. Orange Man Seriously Injured After Truck Crashes Into Car On Route 78: Njsp A 27-year-old Orange man was seriously injured after a vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer on Route 78 on the morning of Friday, April 5, authorities said. At 5:13 a.m. on Route 78 west in Newark, a Chevrolet passenger vehicle was stopped in the right lane due to a previous crash when it was truck by a Freightliner truck, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The passenger of the Chevrolet was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Ground Stop Issued For Newark Airport Following Earthquake Departures at Newark International Airport are grounded following a 4.8 earthquake that hit New Jersey on Friday, April 5. The order was issued by the Federal Aviation Administration at 11:05 a.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m. for departing flights. AirTran service at the airport is also temporarily suspended, though shuttle buses are available at terminals and stations. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said the ground stop, which was also issued for John F. Kennedy International Airport, was in case of aftershocks. Arrivals are delayed 45 minutes according to the FAA.
