Expect Traffic Delays: Religious Procession Will Be Held In Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Motorists planning to travel through Port Chester are being warned to expect delays as a large religious procession is expected to tie up traffic for several hours.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 14, there will be a religious procession starting at Holy Rosary Church, marching onto Purdy Avenue, to South Main Street to East William to Pearl to William Street. The procession will then make its way down Washington Street before looping back on Spring to William to South Regent Street.

Officials cautioned that the large procession will tie up those streets for several hours. There is also a sold-out show on at the Capitol Theater Friday night and ongoing construction in the area, making the roadways crowded and congested.

“We will do our best to expedite the traffic, but our roads can only handle so much. Please show patience.”
