Traffic Alert Issued For Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Motorists planning on traveling on Westchester Avenue in Port Chester during the next several weeks can expect to see delays as Con Edison completes maintenance on a gas line replacement.

Beginning on Monday, between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m., one lane will be closed on Westchester Avenue, from Poningo Street to the area of East Broadway in Port Chester while work continues.

Officials said that they will attempt to maintain the flow of traffic as best as possible, but motorists can expect delays in the area as they replace old and antiquated infrastructure.

 The project is expected to last between six and eight weeks. Work will not be performed when there are shows at the Capitol Theater, according to officials.
