Mother in fatal drunken driving crash released
(11/23/09) YORKTOWN - A Yorktown mother who pleaded guilty in a drunken-driving crash that killed her daughter's 16-year-old friend has been released from jail.
Ann Marie Ciarcia could have faced up to 15 years in prison, but instead served almost three years as part of a plea deal.
Authorities say Ciarcia was driving home drunk from a club with her teenage daughter and her daughter's friend, Emily Cornish, when she jumped onto the Saw Mill River Parkway going against traffic and hit a car. Cornish was killed in the collision. View Comment
