Hmmm... If you figure in the square milage of each city/town mentioned, Harrison is getting the short end of the stick.
Purchase St. in Purchase has gotten to the point where the road is more pothole patches then actual pavement... View Comment
So how come the Journal News isn't printing a map with directions to their houses, like they did to every legal gun owning American citizen in the area?
Oh yeah, these are the 1%ers that have money to sue them.... View Comment
What a blow-hard, standing up there on the podium, screaming and yelling like a lunitic.
NY has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. It takes up to 10 months to get a pistol license in Westchester County, that's the longest amount of time in the country!
NYC, along with Chicago and Detroit, have the toughest gun laws of any city in the country, and all three have the highest ILLEGAL gun crimes in the country!!
You can pass all the gun laws you want, but they only effect good, honest citizens. the criminals do not abide by the law.
Oh, and by the way, the 2nd amendment is not about owning a gun for hunting or target shooting. It is about allowing the citizens of this once great country to protect themselves from tyrants and an out of control government, kind of like the ones that stand on a podium screaming and yelling that they want to ban guns..... Great. The guy who doesn't give a damn about tax payers, but is always fighting for the people who live off the government, will win the next election by getting all the votes from the people who live off the government.
Just like obama.....
If it was up to Jenkins, Westchester residents wouldn't only have the highest taxes in the country, we would have double the taxes of the next highest county!!!!! View Comment
It's about time Astorino got a chance to save us from a bloated county government.
Jenkins has no regard for the tax payers of this county... View Comment
Sanchez would probably be a 3rd string QB if any other team would have him. Tebow is a backup at best. McElroy should be given the chance to prove himself... View Comment
I'll vote for Romney, mainly because I don't believe a socialist government works, and I don't like the fact that our country is being turned into a socialist one... View Comment
I think that before allowing a company to set up recycling bins, We should know what the company does with the stuff that is donated. Their are many veteran organizations that truly donate the stuff, while others clean it and resell it, making a profit. Also, who will police the bins to make sure they are kept clean?
We need to get back to work on a Verizon FIOS contract so Cablevision will no longer have a monopoly in our town... View Comment
You ever try driving down Purchase Street between the airport and Westchester Ave. on a Sunday? These guys travel in groups from 50 to 100, and take up the whole road!! They refuse to travel two bikes wide, and harrass you when you try to pass!
Last time I tried to pass them, they all banged on the side of my car as I drove by! View Comment
Way to go Joe! You worked hard to get here, keep up the good work!
I hink you need to push the fact that this area pays some of the highest taxes in the country, and gets very little in return.
Their is a bridge in Rye that was wiped out in a storm 4 years ago, and today is just a big pile of weeds!
Purchase St. in Purchase from the airport to Westchester Ave. is traveled by hundreds of bicyclists every weekend, but they can't keep to the right because of all the huge potholes. How about a bike lane and corrected drainage over the 2 mile stratch?
Lowey has been in there WAY too long... View Comment
Very nice! When I was young, their were several cub scout/boy scout troops through out Harrison.
I didn't realize they disappeared, but it's good to see they're back! View Comment
I have a great idea, why not get rid of the heads of the departments! You know, those people who make between $100,000.00 and $125,000.00 a year, but don't teach. You know those people, the ones we are paying to do the work that our over-paid superintendant used to do.....
After all, he is one of the highest paid supers in the state, we might as well make him do the work that less paid superintendants before him used to do.... View Comment
"Provide health services for 32 resident students at a cost of $35,078.72." What's that all about?
If the need to cut $266,000.00 from the budget, they can eliminate two heads of departments, who get paid over $100,000.00 each, and don't even teach!! I had to talk to the head of the language department once, and I swear I woke the man up at 2:30 in the afternoon...
And he knew absolutely nothing about the question I had asked him!!! View Comment
