WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A frost advisory has been issued for southern Westchester County, with temperatures predicted to sink into the 30s overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory, from midnight Monday to 9 a.m. Tuesday, means widespread frost is expected, according to the National Weather Service.

The frost could be damaging to sensitive plants and crops, so precautionary measures are advised such as covering them or bringing them indoors.

Monday, the Halloween holiday, will remain sunny with temperatures in the mid-50s across Westchester County.

Temperatures will drop into the mid-30s overnight under clear skies as the frost advisory takes effect.

Tuesday morning will see areas of frost before 9 a.m. The day will be otherwise sunny, with warmer air in the mid-50s. Tuesday night will be a cloudy one, with temperatures in the mid-40 range.

Wednesday's sunny skies will warm up the air to the mid-60s. It will be cloudy overnight, with temperatures in the mid-50s.

Showers could arrive Thursday, a mostly cloudy day, with warm temperatures a drop below 70. Showers are possible again Thursday night, with a cloud covering and much cooler air in the mid-40s.
