Harrison Survives First Snowfall of Season

HARRISON, N.Y. - Snow fell in Harrison Saturday leaving roads slippery and tree branches heavy. Aside from a few fallen trees reported, however, the town managed the weather well.

Harrison police said some trees had fallen but there was no significant damage aside from some power outages in town. The Harrison Department of Public Works was on patrol during the storm collecting falling trees.

Town Chamber of Commerce President Ada Angarano submitted photos of the snow throughout the storm and said her area did fine.

"We were so fortunate that trees weren't on any wires," Angarano said.

As of Sunday afternoon, Consolidated Edison reported 798 Harrison residents without power. It is unclear how many of those outages are storm-related.

Nearby Mamaroneck reported only 76 Con Ed customers without power. Meanwhile, North Castle reported 3,177 customers without electricity.
