Netflix's 110 million subscribers are being warned to be on the lookout for what is described as a "highly effective" phishing scam email that has been fooling even sophisticated users.
"Your Netflix account has been suspended due to a problem with your billing information," the email states.
Those who then click on the accompanying link are taken to what looks just like a Netflix landing page. It then asks for immediate payment.
“Unfortunately, scams are common on the internet and target popular brands such as Netflix and other companies with large customer bases to lure users into giving out personal information,” Netflix told ABC News in a statement.
