Harrison Libraries Announce Winter Break Programs

HARRISON, N.Y. -- Winter break is quickly approaching for Harrison's students, meaning more time outside of the classroom. New programs are coming through local libraries at the end of February to keep them busy during their time off.

Harrison Library Director Galina Chernykh said it's up to the residents to find events that appeal to them. Chernykh said public engagement was crucial to a successful library and the staff has worked to compile more upcoming events.

Here's a list of upcoming events provided by the Harrison Library:

The Downtown Harrison Library, 2 Bruce Ave., presents: It's Movie Time at the Library: Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. The library will show "Moscow Circus," animals under the Big Top. For information, call (914) 835-0324. The West Harrison Library, 2 Madison St., presents:

Mother Goose Time: Thursday, Feb. 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join to hop like bunnies, march like elephants and jump on the bed like monkeys.

Elementary Crafters: Thursday, Feb. 23 at 3:30 p.m. Are you five and up? Come make a craft in a newly renovated upstairs space. The library will be making bubble magnets for you to take home.
