Harrison PD: Woman Gets Ticket On Marijuana Charge

HARRISON, N.Y. – A woman was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after being pulled over by a Harrison police officer for tinted windows on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 1:07 a.m., police said.

After stopping the car on Purchase St. for nontransparent windows, the officer smelled a “strong pungent odor of burnt marijuana” while requesting the driver’s information.

The Port Chester woman was asked if she had any marijuana or other drugs with her and she then gave the officer a “silver metal container with seven plastic baggies of marijuana secreted inside.” The suspect had smoked the weed two hours before the stop, she told police.

The woman was released on scene to someone else and issued a summons for Harrison court on Aug. 21.

The Harrison Police Department also reported:

A Harrison police officer witnessed a New Rochelle man throw a Bible on Anderson Hill Rd. and issued him a ticket for littering Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 12:19 p.m. The man was scheduled for a court date in Harrison on Aug. 14.

A Tarrytown man was issued a ticket for possession of a narcotic on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 2:18 p.m. The man was staggering on Bowman Ave and then tossed a small clear object from his waistband across the I-287 overpass, police said. It was later revealed that he had a “clear hollowed out Bic pen tube containing a white powdery substance” and a “green pill,” which said TEVA / 833. He did not have a prescription for the pill. He was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. After being processed, he was issued a court ticket for Aug. 7.
