HARRISON, N.Y. - A new month brings another new program through Harrison's recreation department. This month, Robot Making stands out amongst February's available recreation activities.
The program is run through Dr. Robot Inc. and includes a one-day workshop with robot making and tournament play. Participants will build and battle with their bots on Feb. 12 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sollazzo Center in downtown Harrison. The program is open for kids in grades one through six for $95.00, which includes a robot assembly kit.
February will also feature two break camps with a mini-day camp of various activities on Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for first through fourth graders at the Sollazzo Center for $185.
Also taking place in February will be Harrison Little League registration. Applications are available at all recreation centers and also at the town's website.
Recreation Superintendent Gerry Salvo was named to his position last September and said he wanted to work closely with the community to deliver dynamic activities for everyone to enjoy.
"I want everyone to be together and keep it one community," Salvo said when he was appointed. "I'm going to strive to continue bringing people together."
