Magid received recognition in the field of dentistry in a New Orleans ceremony earlier this month. The International College of Dentists is a worldwide honorary dental organization established in 1928 with more than 12,000 members. The ICD is "the pre-eminent honorary organization of the world's outstanding dentists who have, by their actions, demonstrated an abiding interest and concern for their communities and profession," representatives said in a release.

Fellowship in the college is by invitation only and is granted in recognition of an individual dentist’s “outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and dedication to the continued progress of dentistry for the benefit of humankind," according to the release.

“Being inducted into the International College of Dentists is one of the most significant events of a dentists career," Magid said. "I am honored to be recognized as a Fellow in the class of 2013.”

Magid has practiced dentistry in Westchester County for more than 40 years, representatives said, and he is the director of Pre-Doctoral Laser Dentistry and associate clinical professor at New York University College of Dentistry and is the assistant director of Honors Esthetics.
