The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 52-year-old Michael Newman, who has moved from the town of Marcy in Oneida County to a residence on Tomahawk Drive in White Plains.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Newman as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Newman had sexual contact with a 3-year-old girl in Rochester in April 2009. He was convicted of criminal sexual act with a victim under the age of 13 and sentenced to seven years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the White Plains City Police Department.
