Strong Storms Knock Out Power To Hundreds In Westchester

Hundreds have been left without power in Westchester on Wednesday afternoon as intense thunderstorms rolled through the area.

As of 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Con Edison was reporting nine outages, impacting 719 of their 348,198 Westchester customers. NYSEG had no outages in Westchester, though there were some reported in nearby counties.

Among the hardest hit areas were Yorktown (378 customers reporting outages) and White Plains (308).

Other customers were affected in North Castle (19), Greenburgh (11), Eastchester, Peekskill and Yonkers (one each). Con Edison expects all power to be restored no later than 4:30 p.m. to all municipalities.
