Z. Joseph Frattarola, 98, Of West Harrison, WWII Veteran

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Z. Joseph (Sube) Frattarola of Port Chester and West Harrison, N.Y. died on Oct. 20, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was 98.

Frattarola was a staff sergeant in the 20th Armored Division U.S. Army during World War II that liberated Dachau Concentration Camp. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 137.

Frattarola is survived by his sons, Joe (Ruthann), Bob (Leslie), Tony (Nancy); sisters, Elizabeth Cecio and Filomena Piro; brother, William; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Dot; sister, Lena Coppola, brother, John; and companion, Tilli Pomerleau.

Calling hours are Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. Interment will follow the service in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle.
