Boykin Leads Flisser in County Legislature District 5 Race

Updated 2 a.m. Wednesday WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- With 87 percent of districts reporting, Benjamin Boykin is leading Miriam Levitt Flisser in the race for District 5 of the County Legislature, 61 percent to 39 percent.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Benjamin Boykin is leading Miriam Levitt Flisser in the race for District 5 of the County Legislature.

As of 10 p.m., with 10 of 55 precincts reporting, Boykin had 1,282 votes and Flisser had 912 votes.

District 5 includes White Plains, Scarsdale and Harrison.

Boykin is a Democrat from White Plains who has served as a White Plains councilman since 2000.

Flisser is a Republican from Scarsdale and also the former mayor of Scarsdale. She is a pediatrician who advocates strongly for lead poisoning awareness.

Both ran to replace William Ryan, who recently finished his eighth term.
