Harrison High Athletes Receive Awards At Ceremony

HARRISON, N.Y. -- Harrison High School recognized its senior athletes in an awards ceremony designed to highlight student successes during the year as well as their athletic participation since entering high school.

“An event such as this one affords us the opportunity to let our student-athletes know how proud we are of them and recognize the contributions they have made to our school district, our community and our programs,” said HHS Athletic Director Stewart Hanson.

The following awards were given:

HHS Athletes of the Year: Rula Abdul Samad and Jake Marino.

Scholar-Athletes of the Year Award: Benjamin Adler and Kyle Lefkowitz.

John C. Hoffman Award: Jordan Valentzas.

John Selvaggio Award: Jenna Vaccaro.

Heart and Soul Award: Erica Daterro; Kendra Deschamps, Trent Lefkowitz, Joseph Jiminez, Max McMullen, Zoe Rheingold, Samantha Shopovick and Michael Sin.

The HHS Spirit Award: John Abadir, Charlotte Breslin, Brandon Merluccio, Victoria Nuvoloni and Hunter Sable.

Unsung Hero Award: Ryan Knox, Ezra Lieblich, Alexandra Sanchez and Charlie Van Tongeren.

Athletic Director’s Award: Michael Amicucci, Matthew Baker, Paige Brabant, Michelle DeLeo, Deven Jacobi, Alexis Ledesma, Coby Lefkowitz, Jordan Riddle, Evann Specht, Matthew Stein and Giovanni Valdes-Fauli.

Dean Marantis Scholarship: Nick Esposito, Max Lukaswitz and Katie Mayne.

E. Richard “Dapper” McDonald Memorial Scholarship: Jake Marino, Nick Esposito and Sarah Mazza.

Dave Basso Memorial Scholarship: J.D. Barnett and Kylie Barnes.

Christine A. DeFonce Memorial Award: Jordan Valentzas.

Abbott W. Morris Scholarship: Jeremy Altamuro.
