Brush Fire Breaks Out Near Route 22 In Brewster A large brush fire near a busy Hudson Valley road sent plumes of smoke into the air before crews could put it out. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Tuesday afternoon, April 9 off Route 22 in Brewster, where a large brush fire ignited, Carmel fire officials said on Wednesday, April 17. The incident prompted a large response from the Brewster and Carmel Fire Departments and sent plenty of smoke into the air before it was eventually put out.  No injuries were reported.

Hudson Valley Porch Collapse: Person Rescued After Being Trapped A porch collapse at a Hudson Valley home left one person injured. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 2 p.m., Monday, April 15, at 5 Boxwood Court in Hyde Park. According to Mitchell Shron, spokesman for the Roosevelt Fire District, responding firefighters and EMS found a porch from an upper story had collapsed with one person trapped in the wreckage.
