Woman Shoots Herself Trying To Reinsert Magazine Into Gun, Philadelphia Police Said A 40-year-old woman was hospitalized after accidentally shooting herself in the chest early Sunday, May 12 in Philadelphia, police said. Police were called to the 1900 block of N. Croskey Street around 12:55 a.m., where the woman had suffered gunshot wounds to her chest before being taken to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle, police said. At the scene, officers found a firearm on the second floor of the home, which had no magazine and was found near blood. Girl Run Over By Tow Truck During Bicycle Ride Gone Wrong In Egg Harbor Township: Police A 15-year-old girl is in critical condition after falling off her bike into the path of tow truck in Atlantic County last week, police said. The girl was hiding in the shoulder of Ocean Heights Avenue heading north, the same direction as the 2021 Ford tow truck next to her, when she lost her balance and fell off her bike around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, Egg Harbor Police Chief Frederick Spano said. NJ State Trooper Who Died During Training Leaves Behind Wife, Daughter (Service Details) Arrangements have been finalized for New Jersey State Police Trooper II Marcellus E. Bethea, who died during training last week. Bethea, 33, had been training to join the TEAMS Unit, an emergency response unit "prepared to handle extra ordinary police emergencies," the NJSP website says. He died on Sunday, May 5. Gov. Women Who Tried To Interfere With Man's Arrest In Disarming Philly Officer Sought By Police Police have arrested the man who they say assaulted and robbed an off-duty officer of his gun. The officer was at 2100 West Oxford Street when he was approached by the man around 7:10 a.m., police said. "During the incident, the officer managed to disarm his offender and fire the attacker's weapon in self-defense," police said. Montclair Shooting Leaves Two People Wounded, Police Say Two people were wounded in what police believe was been a drive-by shooting in Montclair on Friday, May 10. 22-Year-Old Sterling Man Killed In Georgetown Pike Crash Was Speeding, Cops Say Police in Fairfax County have identified the 22-year-old driver killed in a crash on Georgetown Pike this week. Osman Elgamri, of Sterling, was operating a 2017 Lexus IS300 when he left the roadway and struck a tree at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, county police said.
