Stew Leonard's In Yonkers Welcomes Spring With New Farm Arrivals, Contest
YONKERS, N.Y. - Stew Leonard’s Little Farm in Yonkers will open for the season on Saturday, April 29.
And that means greeting some new arrivals.
The birth of two baby cows, two goats and two sheep are planned for 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Yonkers (1 Stew Leonard Dr., 914-375-4700)
To honor the blessed event, Stew’s Little Farms is hosting a celebration that includes snacks, balloons, and special appearances by Clover the Cow, Daphne Duck and Cynthia Chick.

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- There’s a science to book signings, especially when they involve big celebs like Bill Nye, says Aimee Gautreau of the Eastchester Barnes & Noble.
Nye and co-author Gregory Mone will be at the store at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, to promote the first installment of their new children’s book series, “Jack and the Geniuses.”
Published by Amulet, it costs $13.95 and is aimed at kids ages eight through 12. It features the scientific adventures of intrepid orphans Jack, Ava, and Matt, who just happen to be whizzes at astronomy, math, and building robots.

Hudson Valley Wine & Chocolate Festival Supports Putnam Nonprofit
PATTERSON, N.Y. – A fest set in Putnam County's Patterson this weekend will give wine and chocolate lovers the chance to sip, sample, and shop -- and help others at the same time.
The gustatory gala is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, at the Patterson Recreation Center, 65 Front St.
Proceeds from the Hudson Valley Wine & Food Festival will go to support Partners with PARC, a Brewster-based nonprofit dedicated to “securing the financial future of people with disabilities.”

Harrison Holding Cancer-Fighting 'Relay For Life' Event
Hundreds, if not thousands, of folks will be lacing up their running shoes this spring all over Westchester to help fight a deadly disease.
The American Cancer Society says that 13 Relay for Life events have been scheduled for May 20 through June 19.
The community-led events will be held in: Eastchester, Mamaroneck, Chappaqua, Harrison, Katonah-Lewisboro, the Tarrytowns, Yorktown, Yonkers, Somers, Ossining and the Hendrick Hudson School District.
